Gamescom is an annually organized trade fair for video games, held in Cologne, Germany. Gamescom is used by many video game developers to show off their upcoming games and game-related hardware. It’s the largest games event with a quarter million visitors, more than 4000 journalists and 500 exhibitors from 33 countries. The list of exhibited games can be found on Gamescom Wikipedia page, it’s too long to list in a blog post.

One of the most anticipated games at Gamescom is definitely Dota 2, aka Defense of the Ancients 2. The International Championships at Gamescom offers the winning team a prize of ONE MILLION DOLLARS! Other teams get quite a fair amount of cash as well so eSports seem to be doing quite well…
